Dawn Saunders is an academic specialising in English Social History at Oxford University and has a special interest in the history of medicine. After a career break from a major marketing and advertising firm to have three boys, she studied anatomy and physiology, qualified as a sports/remedial massage therapist, and worked for ten years with GB triathletes and stroke patients before returning to academia.

She is currently working on her first book, The White Man’s Grave, a history of early tropical medicine and its intrinsic links with European colonialism.
